Beyond the heated debates and dealmaking around GenAI music, use of chatbots and other AI tools is growing rapidly across the music industry. Now fan-data firm Openstage is leaning in to that dynamic with its latest tool.

It’s called Openstage MCP, which it is pitching as “a connector that links an artist’s live fan data straight into AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Gemini”.

The company is hoping that artists and their teams will use the feature to interrogate their fan-data with natural-language questions.

Provided examples include finding out who the most engaged fans are who haven’t purchased, and what they have in common; where top fans are coming from and where to invest to get more; and even requesting a fanbase audit and six-month audience-growth plan.

“It’s an analyst, strategist, and operator in your pocket,” is how Openstage chief product officer Rob Abelow described it.

“An AI is only as valuable as the data behind it. Most artists’ fan data is scattered across DSP dashboards, a Linktree, and a half-dead mailing list, so an AI plugged into it has almost nothing to work with.”
