Madonna-maniacs, take note: this Thursday (2 July) the Queen of Pop is hosting a listening party for her new album ‘Confessions II’ in partnership with TikTok and iHeartRadio.
The ‘House of Confessions’ livestream will take place on TikTok, offering fans a first listen to the album the day before its release, as well as an hour-long interview with Bob the Drag Queen and appearances from collaborators Stuart Price and Lola Leon.
iHeartRadio is also fielding ‘confessions’ from fans in the run-up to the livestream, which will also be broadcast on more than 200 of its radio stations across the US.
On TikTok, the livestream will be broadcast on TikTok and iHeartRadio’s profiles, as well as on Madonna’s – she has 5.1 million followers on the platform.
Then, on 3-4 July, TikTok will host ‘House of Confessions’ pop-ups in New York and London, with fans able to attend for an in-person listen to the album, visual experience and limited-edition merch – including a bespoke TikTok vinyl record. Reservations are required.
“Confessional-esque” broadcasts have been popping up quite a bit as a component of artist campaigns lately (see: Lola Amour, Trisha Yearwood), as a no-frills, unfiltered approach to livestreams.
Madonna’s livestream also follows a recent partnership with YouTube, which secured exclusive online rights to a 14-minute film released as a ‘visual companion’ to ‘Confessions II’. After premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival in early June, it is now available exclusively on Madonna’s YouTube channel.
