This is a significant year for Sacem, as it celebrates its 175th anniversary – and what better way to celebrate than by releasing its 2025 results, replete with some impressive numbers? Sacem has 663,000 artists and publishers receiving royalties worldwide, it revealed, and the growth of its international collections, driven mostly by digital platforms, meant that it distributed €1.502 billion to them – a 9% increase from 2024.
The global breakdown showed a roughly 50-50 split between collections in France (€859 million) and globally (€845 million). That latter figure was up 13 % compared to 2024, while French collections were stable.
AI as ever, is a focus for future steps: “SACEM has always found ways to strike agreements with the tech sector, and that is what continues to drive us today,” CEO Cécile Rap-Veber told Billboard France, adding that “2026 will be a decisive year, fueled by the legislative developments currently underway.”
Sacem also noted that €17.8 million was “dedicated to cultural initiatives and 3,801 projects supported across all markets.”
