The UK’s Digital Catapult innovation network is bringing its Black Founders Programme back for a third year, and as before, the accelerator is being supported by Sony Music UK. Broadcaster Channel 4 is also on board this year. The programme will support up to 15 early-stage, Black-founded ‘deep tech’ startups whose businesses are focused on or around the creative industries.

Music has been a core part of previous cohorts: for example earlier this year we interviewed alumnus Gameli Ladzekpo about his merch-remixing startup Flossy AI. “Building on the momentum of previous cohorts, with some securing investment and others partnering with Sony Music on innovative, high-impact projects, we’re thrilled to welcome a new group of entrepreneurs,” said Sony Music UK’s senior director of digital and new tech Hari Ashurst-Venn.

Application details for the third programme can be found here.
