beatport nfts marketplace

Electronic-music brand Beatport is stepping up its exploration of web3 with the launch of its own NFTs marketplace.

Beatport·io goes live today, and is aimed at artists, producers and labels who want to sell NFTs, including collectibles that give fans access to unreleased music, cheap tickets and other perks.

Beatport is working with blockchain firm Polkadot on the launch. If the latter’s name sounds familiar, that’s because it’s also the network being used by music NFTs startup Public Pressure, whose $6m funding round we wrote about in December 2022.

Beatport and Polkadot have also said they will work together on 10 events over the next 18 months, each focused on a new collection of NFTs dropping on Beatport·io, timed alongside existing music and web3 events.

All this is the next step on from Beatport’s initial web3 experiments in 2021, when it was selling own-brand NFTs on the Crypto·com marketplace.
