Talha Anjum and Umair were Spotify’s most-streamed local acts in Pakistan during 2025

Last week, Spotify shared year-end charts for Pakistan. As in previous years, they focus on domestic acts and releases. For the second time in a row, rapper Talha Anjum and producer Umair are the top two most-streamed local artists in the country. Singer-songwriter Hasan Raheem is No.3, up from No.8 in 2024. 

The top five is completed by playback and pop superstar Atif Aslam and qawwali legend Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan while the rest of the top ten is made up of five acts who scored the three biggest Pakistani hits of 2025.

They are singer-songwriters Maanu (No.6) and Annural Khalid (No.10), the pair behind the Coke Studio duet “Jhol”, which was also the No.1 domestic smash of 2024; vocalist Afusic (No.8) and producer AliSoomroMusic (No.9) whose collab “Pal Pal” shot them to international fame; and the band Bayaan (No.7) whose Raheem-featuring tune “Maand”, produced by Rovalio, became one of the best-loved compositions of their career. Bayaan’s Safar was the highest-streamed album by a homegrown artist.

Anjum, Raheem and Umair are frequent collaborators and expectedly, they figure prominently in the list of the top songs and albums by domestic acts. The tracks include Anjum’s “Departure Lane” and Raheem’s “Wishes”, the beats of both of which were provided by Umair, and the producer’s own “Obvious”, which features vocals by Raheem. 

On the albums side, Anjum’s Umair-assisted My Terrible Mind and Open Letter came in second and fourth respectively, sandwiching Umair’s collaboration-packed Rockstar Without a Guitar. Raheem’s Dil Kay Parday, which has contributions by Anjum and Umair, made the top ten despite being released this October.

Notably, three classic albums—Imran Khan’s Unforgettable from 2009, Kaavish’s Gunkali (Original Score) from 2008, and Atif Aslam and Sajjad Ali’s soundtrack to the film Bol from 2011—are among the top LPs, showing that like elsewhere in the world, catalogue releases garner substantial plays in Pakistan.
