Swsh is the latest superfan-focused music startup, but its focus is on a specific aspect of fandom: live experiences. And now it has $4m to continue building that out.
The startup aims to help artists spark (but also capture and analyse) fan activity around their tours and other events, as well as enticing sponsors to create revenues around that.
Its $4m seed-funding round was led by Game Changers Ventures, with Stellation Capital, SignalFire and MaC Venture Capital also backing the company. Some music-industry executives also chipped in: Scooter Braun, Guy Oseary and Julie Greenwald were among the angel investors opening their wallets for the round.
Here’s the pitch, from CEO Alexandra Debow: “Fans are already documenting everything that happens at concerts, games, and brand activations,” she said. “Swsh turns those moments into measurable data, while strengthening the communities of superfans around the experiences they care about most.”
The company has started in music, but says it plans to expand into sports and branded activations in the coming months.
