Boiling down musician/DJ/label boss Ben Watt’s excellent interview with author Robert Levine into a paragraph is a tough job: the whole thing is worth a proper read. Levine is the author of Free Ride, a book that takes aim at the ‘free culture’ movement. Here’s a sample: “The fact that barriers to entry have come down is what’s great about the Internet and the fact that piracy is rampant is what’s wrong with the Internet, and I think we need to separate them. To use a tired metaphor, highways have caused both economic growth and led to deaths in car accidents, and no one suggests banning highways. The answer is to regulate how people drive.”
