Earlier this week when we interviewed British artist-apps startup Disciple Media, the company said it wasn’t ready to name any of its pipeline of clients. A few days on, clearly that policy has changed. Disciple says it will be launching apps for country artist Luke Bryan and British dance act Rudimental, who’ll join Rufus Wainwright, Suicide Silence and Simon Posford on its roster.
“There’s gonna be so much in our App that you can’t get anywhere else… live streaming from all over the world, pre-sale tickets, the best Rudimental merch, games, app-only competitions, basically loads of exclusive access to what we’re up to all the time,” said Rudimental in a statement echoed by their manager Greg Burnell. “Push notifications are the new email! The app’s branding and bespoke features are exactly what the guys have chosen and fans will get all the good stuff first,” he said. There’s no news yet on how much the band will be charging fans, although Wainwright’s £2.99-a-month subscription may offer a hint.
