Johnny Marr made his name in The Smiths before pursuing a solo career that has also seen him collaborate with umpteen other artists. As such, he must have plenty of advice to share with younger peers. Three will be benefiting from that advice in particular over the coming months, courtesy of a partnership between Marr and Epidemic Sound. He’ll be mentoring three of its artists: Rebecca Mardal, Christoffer Moe Ditlevsen and Kylie Dailey.
Epidemic Sound has ruffled a few feathers in the music industry down the years, but Marr praised it: “a new kind of music company with its innovative platform opening up ways for emerging musicians to make a living, while distributing their work at scale to today’s online audience of viewers, fans, and listeners”.
This is the second such mentorship partnership for Epidemic Sound this year, following its enlistment of Richie ‘Plastikman’ Hawtin in May.
