Big news for any wistful former Vine users in the house – the app is getting a reboot, under the new name Divine

Divine is offering access to roughly 500,000 restored Vine videos from the original service, as well as offering creators the floor to post new Vines, which has attracted the attention of some of the OG Vine creators.

The app team has been vocal about trying to appeal to what their supporters are asking for, which includes a redesign that aligns with what people loved about the old app, as well as filter out AI slop.

In other news, Instagram is launching another new app. Inspired by Snapchat and BeReal, Instants is currently available as a standalone app in Spain and Italy, as well as an in-app feature in a couple other regions.

The focus is on fleeting and simple content, as users can only create posts via their phone’s camera. It remains visible for 24 hours, and can only be viewed once per follower.

How to have Instants success?

Embrace the teens. Divine and Instants are both diving headfirst into 2010-2016 nostalgia, which could be interesting for a campaign of that leaning.

Keep a finger on the pulse. Your artist doesn’t need to jump on every new platform, but it could mean a chance to reach new audiences on the ground floor, or even partner with the platform in a wider campaign.
