Music Ally Japan has been covering a very interesting story on the launch of NCG Entertainment, a new label from Nippon Columbia Group. Its new offshoot is described as an entertainment label that uses AI, with plans to develop a creator business around that.
The new label has begun accepting applications from the public for creators to join, and is open to all creators who use AI in their creative activities, including AI artists, AI singer developers, virtual talents, and character creators.
Creators who sign a contract will receive comprehensive support for their activities, including fees for using AI tools in their artistic activities, and support for live performances in virtual spaces.
There will also be a royalty and revenue distribution system that links each right with an eye toward global expansion, the production and distribution of physical sound sources, karaoke distribution, distribution to major DSPs such as Spotify and Apple Music, a checking function to confirm the similarity of AI works, and back-office support.
